TerrAdore Gemstone Art Jewelry features local and rare gemstones in unique jewelry designs, some inspired by ancient Celtic/Viking cultures and others by Mid-Century Modern and Brutalist art. Custom gemstones are cut, ground and polished in- house. Sterling silver, copper or brass settings are designed and created to highlight and enhance the unique qualities of each stone. Other natural materials are often added. TerrAdore also specializes in Viking Knit, a metal weave that has not changed in over 2,000 years ago.
Art jewelry from TerrAdore is crafted by hand and tells a story about: where the stone came from; what are its outstanding features; and what makes it valuable or not. As a Lapidary Artist I can also explain why I cut the stone the way I did according to color, pattern and peculiarities such as the hardness of the stone, inclusions, crystal formations etc. In creating the whole piece, I can convey what influenced my design choice, why I chose that particular metal and what metalsmithing techniques were used to craft the design? So when you purchase a one-of-a-kind piece of art jewelry from TerrAdore, it already has quite a story. Then the story continues with you.
